At Yakima Regional, volunteers are a vital part of our patient care team, helping staff deliver outstanding care to both patients and their families. Volunteers are seen welcoming visitors, escorting patients and family members, and working on our medical floors with staff. Volunteering offers opportunities for seniors, retirees, professionals, homemakers, students and anyone else interested in helping others. Our current volunteers range in age from 16 to 80. Flexible scheduling is available to meet the needs of our volunteers.
Volunteering at Yakima Regional is a great opportunity to grow personally while serving a critical need in our community. Our volunteers tell us that their work at the hospital helps them develop new interests, make new friends, and gain personal satisfaction by making a difference in a patient's hospital stay.
Opportunities for Students
If you have some interest in healthcare, but aren't yet sure whether you would like to pursue a career in this multi-faceted field, become a volunteer. Students must be at least 18 years old to volunteer in patient care areas, and those at least 16 years old may volunteer in a variety of non-patient care areas. These opportunities not only provide an excellent way for students to meet graduation requirements for volunteerism, they also offer a unique insight into hospital healthcare.
Student volunteers are young adults who may be considering careers in healthcare. Students are provided opportunities to assist paid staff with a wide variety of duties in the medical departments of the hospital, allowing them to experience patient care on a first-hand basis.
Every day, generous community members volunteer their time at Yakima Regional, and we invite you to become a part of our volunteer team.
